| Webcasting, also known as streaming, is the process
of taking audio and/or video content and delivering it to the
web. Many file formats file such as images and animations must
be downloaded entirely before being opened. Webcasting, or streaming
allows content to be delivered in real-time without delay by
using software known as a player. Popular players are RealOne
and Microsoft Windows Media Player.
There are two types of webcasting: live events and on-demand.
Live events may be viewed on the Internet
while the event is actually in progress. On-demand streaming
is used for distributing pre-recorded audio and video. Webcore
offers both.
Webcore currently streams the home games for the Round
Rock Express, which is the Houston Astros AA minor league
organization. One afternoon home game streamed by Webcore
reached 1,000 unique visitors.
To further enhance our webcasting services, Webcore recently
became partners with Blue Falcon Networks. Blue Falcon’s product
dramatically reduces bandwidth and infrastructure costs, allowing
Webcore to provide streaming services at a fraction of the
cost of other companies.
Webcore can design and implement live or on-demand streaming
solutions for you. Please contact our sales staff at 877.WCT.HOST
