The Webcore network was designed to provide maximum reliability
and speed for mission-critical applications and web sites. Our
network is powered by Cisco equipment and consists of multiple
uplinks and paths, which redirect traffic immediately in the
event of network hardware failures or issues with uplink providers.
Internet Connectivity
We peer with multiple tier-1 backbones for redundancy and to
enable traffic to be routed in the most efficient manner possible.
Our peering agreements include a 45Mbps DS-3 to UUNet and
a 45Mbps DS-3 to Genuity. Our uplinks will be upgraded to
OC-3's on an as-needed basis. Please visit the network

Network Redundancy
We have implemented various technologies to improve the reliability
and maximize the uptime of our network. The first of these
technologies is BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) routing. BGP
routing ensures that data coming into our network and data
leaving our network (WAN traffic) is sent via the shortest,
most efficient path possible. BGP also instantly re-routes
WAN traffic in the event of an uplink failure to provide uninterrupted
access to servers hosted by Webcore. Our network also runs
EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol) and HSRP
(Hot Standby Router Protocol) which dynamically re-route internal
(LAN) traffic in the event of a network hardware or link failure.
Bandwidth Utilization
Our network runs at an average of 6% network capacity during
peak hours. This allows plenty of room for traffic to "burst"
in the event that your web site receives a large amount of
visitors in a short time. You may notice slow response times
of web sites hosted by other companies. This slowness can
be caused when Internet uplinks reach 70% or greater capacity,
thus saturating the link. Webcore clients don't have this
problem.
Guaranteed packet Delivery/Uptime
Guarantee
We have service level agreements (SLA's) with all of our uplink
providers. Our uplink providers GUARANTEE that at least 99.5%
of data sent from our network will reach Internet users in
less than 55 milliseconds (in North America). Packet loss
and network latency are both factors that may cause web sites
to respond slowly. Our SLA's with our uplink providers prevent
