Our in-house tier-1 level data center enables us to provide
the most reliable hosting and Internet connectivity in the industry.
The data center is located in Austin, TX and expansion to Colorado
is planned in the future. Engineered from the ground up for
mission critical applications, our data center rivals the best
in the industry. Combined with our Microsoft and Cisco certified
support staff, we are able to provide the best hosting, streaming
and Internet connectivity solutions available.
Location
Austin is an ideal location for our data center because of
the absence of natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes
and earthquakes. Our facilities are located in downtown Austin
on dual power grids, thus ensuring the most reliable power
in the city. Fiber in our building consists of (5) MCI OC-192's,
(1) Time Warner OC-48 and (1) Southwestern Bell OC-12. UUNet
also recently lit a POP (point-of-presence) in our building,
which is now one of the two main Austin UUNet hubs.
Physical Security
Our entire facilities (including offices) are monitored 24x7x365
and are protected via key card access. All entries/exits to
our entire site are logged off-site in real-time. Public access
is strictly forbidden to our data center. Data center access
is restricted from everyone except our Microsoft and Cisco
certified technicians. The data center is protected using
a biometric palm scanner, with photographs taken and transmitted
off-site upon each entry to the data center.
Conditioned Power / Environment
Webcore's data center is designed to run uninterrupted in
the unlikely event of a total power outage. Dual power grids
are our first line of protection. Downtown Austin contains
dual power grids for maximum availability of power to local
hospitals and our State Capitol. The second line of protection
is our multiple APC UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems
with extended run frames. Our APC UPS systems provide approximately
1.5 hours of battery backup run time in the event of a power
failure. The third line of protection is a backup generator.
In the event of an extended power outage, the Webcore data
center is powered by a backup diesel generator. The generator
is tested periodically to ensure proper functionality should
an extended power outage occur. In addition to conditioned
power, Webcore's data center includes a halon fire suppression
system and Liebert HVAC.
